Horn-rimmed Glasses Have Launched the Now Greek-chic Fashion

Von daianna, 08:51

Nowadays, horn-rimmed glasses have become a staple part of the stereotypical geek image, and have launched the now prevalent geek-chic fashion.

Horn- rimmed glasses are very nice and can meet some people’s different demands. They lack of nose pads. This differs from other kinds of glasses. Horn-rimmed glasses can be categorized into some of the most typical and stylish classic eyeglasses in the industry.

Horn-rimmed glasses are a type of eyeglasses with frames made of horn, tortoise shell, or plastic that simulates either material. They originated in Europe in the 1800s. However, as time goes by, the definition also changes- dark tinted eye glasses with thick frames. They are commonly referred to as a pair of dark, plastic eyeglasses with frames that range in thickness from about 1/16″ to 1/4″. The dark colored plastic stands out, giving the appearance of thick frames.

Iconic American silent movie comedian, Harold Lloyd, might have been the first to popularize black horn-rimmed glasses. The style was popularized and endured, even through periods where the heavy “in-your-face” rims were considered unfashionable.

Therefore, nowadays horn-rimmed glasses are no longer made from those natural materials which are not only impossible to get and will cause serious damages to the environment while processing. Horn-rimmed glasses in the market are mainly made from plastic and other similar materials which are not only cheap, but also energy-saving while making.

All in all, it is absolutely a new fashion to wear horn-rimmed glasses. You will be crazy about them if you are a fashion chaser.
