Clean Big Plastic Eyeglasses by Yourself

Von daianna, 08:50

Big plastic eyeglasses can get covered in dust, dirt and other similar particles, as well as grime. The particles and grime can interfere with your eyesight and be very distracting at times, such as if you are driving at night. Cleaning the plastic lenses in eyewear once a day can keep the lenses clear. It is important that you use the proper cleaning items, though; otherwise you could scratch or otherwise damage your plastic eyeglasses.

Plastic lenses should be cleaned once daily to remove dirt debris that can cause scratches. With regular cleaning, plastic lenses can stay looking new.

Instructions

Step 1 Hold the glasses by the frame under warm running water. Adjust the water pressure to a low stream to avoid damaging the glasses. Rinse the front and back side of the glasses. Rinsing the glasses under water removes dirt particles that can scratch the lenses.

Step 2 Squirt a small amount of dish soap on each lens. Using your fingers, gently lather the soap and clean the lens. Spread some of the lather onto both the front and back side of each lens. Dish soap removes oil and smudges from the lenses.

Step 3 Rinse the glasses under warm running water to remove the soap. Remember to keep the water pressure at a low stream and to hold the glasses by the frame. Rinse the front and back side of the glasses to remove all the soap.

Step 4 Dry the glasses with a clean soft microfiber cloth. Drug stores sell microfiber cloths that are marketed for eyeglass use. Microfiber cloths clean and dry glasses without scratching them and without leaving lint behind.

Step 5 Keep a dry clean microfiber cloth handy at all times to wipe smudges off lenses when needed. Never use a paper towel, tissue or a shirt to clean glasses; they can scratch the lenses.

Big plastic eyeglasses are popular because they are lighter in weight than glass lenses, making them more comfortable to wear. Special care is needed to keep plastic lenses from getting scratches as lens scratches are distracting to the wearer. Just learn to clean them by yourself.
