Different Frames, Including Plastic Glasses Frames

Von daianna, 09:32

There are many types of eyeglasses frames. If you are allergic to certain materials, you may find your eyeglasses can irritate your skin. There are the plastic glass frames too.

While until a few decades ago, the only choices available in frames was plastic or metal in limited colors, today, it is possible to buy glasses based on their brand, shape, color, and frame material.

With regards to the latter, there are plenty of options available - metal, metal/plastic, plastic, stainless steel, steel and titanium in a range of styles and colors. With so many varieties, how do you know which one is best for you? The following is a guide to some of the more popular frame picks:

Titanium is the hottest new material for frames and there are plenty of reasons why. The metal is lightweight but extremely strong, making each frame durable even under rigorous testing conditions. Which means they are perfect for the absent minded individual, the outdoor enthusiast, the busy mother, and the kid who needs glasses. Titanium frames may contain pure titanium or a mixed alloy to make it more flexible. Because of its light texture, delicate frames can be designed from this material. The metal is also non-corrosive, and hypoallergenic, making it an alternative solution for those with sensitive skin issues.

These frames provide a nice, inexpensive answer to titanium frames. They have the distinct advantage in being hypoallergenic, lightweight, and strong. Most stainless steel frames also contain chromium which makes them resistant to corrosion and heat.

Metal frames (apart from Titanium) are usually heavier than plastic frames and have the distinct disadvantage of being easily bent out of shape, though they are less likely to break. However, they are also anti-corrosive when plated with palladium or other nickel-free material, which makes them durable and scratch resistant.

While plastic is light and hence often seen in frames, plastic frames can break more easily, especially in thin designs. They prove better in thicker frame designs. They are also a favorite for designers who enjoy using bold colors and embellishments in their patterns.

It is important to discuss options with your optician or online store retailer. You'll find that in most instances, nickel in metal frames can cause a reaction. If this is the case, switching to plastic, titanium, or stainless steel frames may offer a solution.

The plastic glass frames are very good for our nose compared with other kinds of eyeglass frames because they are very light and will not hurt the back ridge of our weak noses.
